Cupping Therapy In Plymouth MN

Northern Edge Chiropractic is one of the few places around that offers cupping therapy to it’s patients. Cupping is best used as a therapy to aid in the performance of athletic training, speed up recovery of an existing injury or in some cases to help prevent injury from happening.

The main function is to stimulate blood flow and increase circulation to aid in detoxing the body/muscles in order to aid in recovery and pain relief. This type of therapy is becoming very popular among athletes, as it is a great way to recover from high intensity training, long distance endurance sports or even rapid muscle building exercises.

Cupping Therapy Is Beneficial For Treating:

  • Disc Herniation
  • IT Band Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Chronic Muscle Pain & Fatigue

Treating Patients Through Cupping Therapy In Plymouth MN

For best results we recommend 3-4 sessions of cupping spaced out over 2 months. Giving the body a week or two between sessions seems to yield the best results. No bruising should be evident when starting your next cupping session. Each consecutive cupping session will include an increase in duration and intensity.

By easing the body into a new therapy we can effectively prevent excess bruising and soft tissue damage while still getting the desired therapeutic effect of the cupping session.

This service is great as a maintenance tool as well to keep the body functioning at a high level. Just like with any form of body-work cupping will help reduce muscle spasms, increase muscular performance and help rid the body of lactic acid quicker. Whether you are a weekend warrior, a marathon sprinter, a body builder or a professional athlete regular cupping sessions will give you the “edge” you need against the competition.

Our lymphatic system is affected by our immune system as well as our musculoskeletal system. Movement is needed to be produced by the musculoskeletal system in times of high immune response, as our body produces inflammation and more white blood cells. When lymph nodes are present the body is dealing with excess levels of inflammation. By doing cupping therapy while feeling ill you can increase lymphatic drainage and promote better immune response. This means regular cupping sessions could actually help boost your immune system or help you recover from illness quicker.
